Esfandiar is applying his many years of risk management experience in his Encore Fellowship with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley.

Esfandiar Imani had the pleasure of working for more than 25 years in increasingly diverse and challenging roles, including in leadership and management, in the utility and energy sector. In that time, he developed economic and financial models to evaluate long-term power contracts, traded natural gas pipeline and storage facilities products and services, negotiated and structured numerous renewable power transactions and led company’s health & safety and gas operations business units’ operational risk management teams.

Having found strong interest and passion in operational risk management, Esfandiar co-founded a non-profit that specializes in risk management through pragmatic tools and education that increase safety, resilience, and reliability as well as measurable risk-reduction.

Esfandiar is also a Researcher at UC Berkeley’s Center for Catastrophic Risk Management (CCRM). CCRM is a group of academic researchers and internationally recognized experts and practitioners in the fields of engineering, social science, medicine, public health, public policy, and law, who recognize the need for interdisciplinary solutions to avoid and mitigate tragic events.

Esfandiar is applying his many years of risk management experience in his Encore Fellowship with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. Second Harvest leads their community to ensure that anyone who needs a healthy meal can get one. In his Encore Fellowship, Esfandiar will perform a comprehensive safety analysis and audit and develop a recommended plan of action.
