It’s a great pleasure to introduce Paul‘s new Senior Fellow—and the first of our Fellows to focus on thought leadership and cultural change.

Paul is a distinguished journalist, author, speaker and researcher with a focus in recent years on generational trends and demographic change. He is the author of three books, including the “The Next America: Boomers, Millennials and the Looming Generational Showdown (2014, Public Affairs), which draws on his work as executive vice president at the Pew Research Center (listen to Paul talk about that book on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart), and a co-author of‘s recent research report, “Generation War?” which laid an important foundation for the Generation to Generation campaign. Paul’s 25-year reporting career included 14 years at the Washington Post, including groundbreaking coverage of the transformation of apartheid in South Africa. Most recently, he wrote about the implications of global demographic change for Foreign Policy magazine, and in an op-ed for The Washington Post.
