Tony Tapia

Tony Tapia, principal of Bridging Worlds Philanthropic Advisors, advises on global philanthropy, corporate giving, performing arts, immigration, Latino, and aging issues. Tapia has worked in the nonprofit, foundation and corporate sectors for over 35 years. He also serves as program consultant for Latino Age Wave Colorado, a program of the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado and the Rose Community Foundation that seeks to help Latino older adults and their family and community caregivers thrive. Tapia is a program director for The Conference Board’s Corporate Social Responsibility and Philanthropy & Engagement Councils, providing thought leadership to corporate giving professionals. 

Prior to his current work, Tapia was the Senior Program Director for the Western Union Foundation, leading global-giving programs. Previously, he was Director of Grantmaking at the Gill Foundation and Program Director of Cultural Programs at the Association of Performing Arts Presenters. 

Tapia currently serves as a board member of Borealis Philanthropy and the Bright Mountain Foundation. He was appointed by Colorado’s governor to serve as a member of the Colorado Strategic Action Planning Group on Aging. He has served on numerous boards including Hispanics in Philanthropy, Funders for Gay and Lesbian Issues, Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees, Latin American Research and Services Agency, and Metro Volunteers.
