Purpose Prize Fellow and children’s book author, Haywood Fennell, Sr. is the featured guest on CNN’s Life After Work segment that began Thursday, November 29 and runs through Sunday, December 2.

For the last four years, Haywood has become involved with literacy enhancement and developing The Coota Literacy Enhancement Pilot Project, by using the two books that he has written and self-published. He works with educators, school programs, church programs, and public schools to research and create strategies for literature/arts enrichment.

Coota and the Magic Quilt and Coota and the Challenge are part of a planned trilogy. Coota and the Magic Quilt was recently translated in Spanish; further increasing readership. The Coota books share the importance of compassionate communications and avoidance of all forms of racial and ethnic slurs.
