I was delighted to be the “encore” voice during a recent panel discussion at The New America Foundation on aging and the new face of retirement. Carol Hymowitz of Bloomberg News moderated, and the discussion was lively and provocative. (The hook for the panel was the publication of Bloomberg’s new e-book, “Getting Older.”) Among the subjects we tackled:

• Whether 401ks have taken baby boomers down the wrong path,
• Innovations in retirement investment vehicles being pioneered in several cities,
• The pros and cons of “owning your age” and
• How employers and higher education institutions can become more ‘encore-friendly.’
