Wyvonia Woods Harris

I remember July 1, 2011 as I said “See ya” to my colleagues and friends and fellows who had been a part of my family at Baptist Health Care. I said to them that, in my butterfly persona, I truly had to fly to another point of view and this is my view of volunteering as a part of my mission to offer Fruit of the Spirit as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and a God-controlled self, soul and spirit everyday.

I started volunteering as a nursing student 48 years ago and it has always been in my activities of daily living. I continued as I did undergraduate and graduate work. My family background is giving while we are living, so that is my main motivation.

Today I serve in faith, community and country as a minister, American Cancer Society, Tennessee Cancer Coalition, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, Mid-South Comfort Care coalition as speaker, trainer and volunteer in my Tennessee Congressional District. I now do a Wy’s Ways of Wellness BlogTalk radio show.

I always say to my young SFAMs (Sister Friends and Mentors) that they have youth, strength and passion and that I would enjoy hooking up to the soul and spirit of my older, wiser and compassionate caring self, to make us the “Wy’€™s Joyful Company” which is the name of my wellness speaker and consulting company.
