Mike Mowery is the National Director of the Encore Fellowships Network.
Previously, Mike held senior corporate legal positions for over 20 years with Bay Area wireless and technology companies, where he managed legal teams and led the negotiation and development of strategic national and international alliances, licensing, distribution and procurement transactions.
Mike began his first encore career as Executive Director of Super Stars Literacy in 2007 and led their expansion from a start-up, volunteer-led after-school program to a well-respected, research-based literacy intervention organization serving 500 students a year in multiple Bay Area districts. Over six years, Mike increased revenue five-fold, improved program scalability and quality, developed strategic partnerships with regional education networks and expanded and professionalized the board of directors.
Mike has served on the Board of Directors of Destiny Arts Center and The Wireless Museum, and led pro bono projects for Social Venture Partners and the Full Circle Fund. Mike and his wife, Patty, direct a donor-advised fund at the East Bay Community Foundation in memory of their daughter Danielle, supporting youth and education programs. Mike received his law degree from University of Toledo and earned his B.A. in Political Science from The Ohio State University.
