I founded a theatre and dance company named Sun.Ergos. We have travelled to 25 countries on five continents, performing and teaching.
Sun.Ergos (the Greek word meaning “working together”) is a unique, professional, two-man company of theatre and dance, touring nationally and internationally as cultural ambassadors to urban and rural communities. Our mandate is to witness and explore the similarities and differences of world cultures in order to promote greater compassion and understanding among peoples everywhere.
When my dad asked me when I was 5 what I wanted to do, I said, “I want to be an actor!” And he said, “How do we do that?” My parents got me singing and ballroom dancing lessons, and I got into community theatre and have been doing it ever since – now 69 years!
We’ve recently come back from Tunisia and Iran where we taught some truly incredible young people, and I got to perform my one-man show of SHAKESPEARE. The people in both countries were generous, thoughtful, considerate and very aware of their position in the world.
What I’d like the world to know about older workers is that we never stop being who we are and our abilities and skills can be shared with others.
