Senior Director of Development & Philanthropic Partnerships

You have a passion for social innovation and impact, an entrepreneurial spirit, and are well versed in large-scale development campaigns.

ABOUT OUR WORK

Encore.org is one of the nation’s leading organizations focused on age diversity and the multigenerational society.

For 20 years, we worked to change cultural expectations for the years beyond 50 and spark a movement around second acts for the greater good. Among our past projects are Experience Corps, the Purpose Prize, and Encore Fellowships, as well as six books, hundreds of articles, and numerous awards and recognitions.

Today, as America becomes a much more multigenerational society, with five generations living and working at the same time. We have evolved from a focus on expanding the contributions of older people to a focus on what the vast and growing older population can do in collaboration with younger generations to solve our nation’s most pressing problems, from climate change to social isolation. Our mission is to bring older and younger changemakers together to solve problems, bridge divides, and co-create the future.

We want to change the societal norm for our age-diverse nation from one characterized by generations apart to one built by generations together. It’s an idea we call cogeneration. And it will form the foundation of our strategy and programs going forward, reflected in a rebranding and renaming of the organization this Fall and a celebration of our 25th anniversary in 2023.

We will work as a catalyst to shift the cultural narrative and tell a new story about cogenerational action; to support innovators bringing generations together for mutual benefit and social impact; and to build a community of people, organizations and funders to scale this work and sustain it.
