After a long career at IBM, he was selected to be sponsored as an Encore Fellow. When he retires, he now knows there is another chapter waiting for him in the nonprofit sector.

The Encore Fellowship gave me a rich experience working for a nonprofit and opened my eyes to the vast nonprofit community and network of supporting businesses and services. I met many great people dedicated to their respective causes.

Prior to my Encore Fellowship I was a career IBMer working in Software development and support, most recently as a Software Support Manager.

I selected Mission Triangle for my fellowship because I believed in their mission to train and equip faith-based nonprofits. At Mission Triangle I used my IT and Business Integration skills on a number of projects, with tools such as FormAssembly and Salesforce, and also provided a variety of IT services in the office. The highlight was being in charge of audience engagement using Slido for Mission Triangle’s signature Shark Tank event with 350 attendees.

At the end of the Encore Fellowship, I accepted a new position as Program Manager in IBM’s CIO organization working on transformation of the company’s quote-to-cash infrastructure.

I plan to continue volunteering and have a sense that one day when I retire from my corporate job there is another chapter waiting for me in the nonprofit sector.
