Scott Allen focused his extensive executive experience and expertise in small business management and marketing in publishing at MacAdam CAGE Publishing and in the financial sector to create a business plan for an encore careers job-matching system in California. He served his fellowship at Aspiranet, a statewide network of family, adoption, foster care, after-school and education programs in California.

“My Encore Fellowship experience at Aspiranet was very rewarding. I knew I wanted to get involved in social purpose work when I left publishing but found the transition process quite daunting. Once I was selected as an Encore Fellow the path became clear  “and more fruitful than I could have imagined.”

Allen was a member of the inaugural Silicon Valley Encore Fellowships program. Utilizing his prior executive experience in small business management, marketing and publishing, Scott explored avenues for developing an Encore CA job-matching business. Leveraging his Aspiranet Encore Fellow experience, he now serves as a Friend of the Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center and has helped launch the Montecito Historical Archives, a new nonprofit in the Santa Barbara area.
