After a long career managing facilities and security for the local utilities in Colorado Springs, I shifted gears. Now I am using my skills and experience as facilities manager for a nonprofit called Biblica, a bible translation, engagement and publishing company.

Biblica makes the transforming message of God’s Word accessible for people in any life circumstance. We conduct ministry through three core strategies: Translation, Publishing and Bible Engagement. Biblica’s location in Colorado Springs provides ministry support around the world.

I was motivated to make this change because I wanted to continue to do God’s work with the gifts and talents he helped me develop in my former career in the utilities industry. This work helps me continue to be a contributor, have purpose in life and grow my spiritual base.

Older workers still have skills and talents to contribute. Although we may not want to work full-time, our skill sets and dedication to a strong work ethic can add value to any organization.
